On Tuesday the Track team competed in the MOCAL championship at Grove City Cheistian. The Girls placed first in the 4x100, and the 4x200 races. Charity Ellzey placed 1st and Taqueedia Patton placed 2nd in the 100m race. In the 200m race Taqueedia Patton placed 1st and Corryne Shuler placed 2nd. In the 1600m Taylor Liggins placed 2nd. In the 3200m race Denita Saunders placed 2nd. In the 400m race Emma Russell placed 3rd, and in the high jump Corryne Shuler placed 2nd. The boys placed 2nd in the 4x100 and the 4x200 races. Dannye Winkfield placed 2nd in the 100m race, and Bryan Redic placed 3rd in the 400m. Sam Sheedy placed 1st in the long jump, and Bryan Redic placed 1st in the high jump. Overall the girls placed 2nd for the Mocal Championship and the boys placed 3rd.

Taylor Liggins came in 2nd in the 1600m and Denita Saunders came in 1st in the 3200m. The boys came in 2nd in the 4x100m and 4x200m. Bryan Redic placed 1st in the high jump and 400m.

On April 24th they participated in the Kallner Invitational at Hamilton Township. The girls came in fourth in the 4x200m. Charity Ellzey came in second in the 200m and fourth in the 100m. Bryan Redic came in third in the high jump. This invitational was very competitive with teams like DeSales and Teays Valley. The team did a great job despite rainy weather and several injuries.

April 22nd the track team went to the Watkins Memorial Invitational. The girls came in first in the 4x100m and 4x200m. Charity Ellzey came in first in the 100m and second in the 200m. TaQueedia Patton came in third in the 200m and Emma Russell came in fourth in the 400m. Corryne Shuler placed third in the high jump and Taylor Liggins came in fourth in the 1600m. The boys came in third in the 4x100m. Bryan Redic placed first in the high jump and Jaylan Davis came in fourth in the 100m.

On April 17th the track team ran at the Richwood Relays at North Union High School. The girls came in third in the 4x100m and 4x200m and fifth in the high jump relay. The boys came in fourth in the 4x200m and third in the high jump relay.

The high school track team ran in the first meet ever for Tree of Life this past Tuesday. They had an impressive showing with the girls team winning the meet overall and the boys placing second. They ran against Grove City Christian, Northside Christian, Madison Christian, and Milford Christian. TOL girls and boys came in first in the 4x200m, the girls also came in first in the 4x100m and the boys came in second. TaQueedia Patton came in first in the 100M and Charity Ellzey came in second. The distance team also did very well. Tyler Pridgen ran the 1600M in 5.52. For the girls 1600M, Denita Saunders came in first followed by Taylor Liggins. Taylor also placed first in the 800M. Emma Russel came in first in the 400M and Charity placed first in the 200M followed by TaQueedia. For the boys 100M, Jaylan Davis ran 12.19 and Dannye Winkfield ran 12.34. Emma came in second place in the discus throw. Corryne Shuler came in first place in the girls high jump and Bryan Redic came in first for the boys. Sam Sheedy placed second in the long jump. It was an especially exciting track meet as school records were set in every event!
